Joan of Arc and Her Blood Moon Word

Next week on April 4 we will experience the third “Blood Moon”, or Lunar Eclipse, of the 2014-15 Tetrad as we look back to the third Blood Moon of the 1428-29 Tetrad to see how a teenage girl changed the history of the world and the Church by following a word from God.

Joan of Arc lived in troubled times. Her country, France, was being overrun by the English and the last remaining large city, Orleans, was under siege. The English claimed the French throne and the French crown prince, called the Dauphin, was kept from legitimizing his rule through coronation in the city of Reims by the English armies. Joan had a word from God to relieve the siege of Orleans and help the Dauphin be crowned in Reims. She set out to see the Dauphin in February of 1429, just as the third “Blood Moon” was about to occur.

The Dauphin believed Joan, and she was given command of an army to relieve Orleans. She defeated the English at Orleans and the Dauphin was crowned in July of 1429 at Reims in accordance with her word from God. Although Joan was martyred by the English in 1431, she had saved the nation. Ultimately the English were driven out of France and the borders of France were made secure.

Ironically, the English defeat proved to be a great benefit for them and the Church. Without Continental lands to defend, the English homeland was sheltered from Europe’s constant warfare. The English Channel proved to be an effective barrier against would be invaders such as the Spanish Armada, Napoleon, and Hitler. England was forced to turn outward, ultimately colonizing the Americas while building the largest Empire ever created. Joan of Arc saved the English from themselves.

As we have said before, the “Blood Moons” are about God’s grace and revival in the Church (See our Blog of 10/15/14 “Blood Moons During the Church Age”). In this case the Church was a beneficiary of the English Blessing. The English dynasty which lost its French holdings were replaced by the Tudors, who brought the Protestant Reformation to England. If the English had kept lands in France the Tudors could have been forced to renounce their Protestant faith because of French opposition, as the Protestant French King Henry of Navarre did in the Sixteenth Century. In addition, the English carried Christianity and their Anglican Church to the Americas and into the whole world through the British Empire.

Today there are 87 million Anglicans, 61 million of them living outside of Britain, and 419 million Protestants, with 289 million living outside of Europe and North America. All owe a debt to Joan of Arc for believing God and saving France from the English and the English from themselves.

As it says in Revelation, Chapter 12, Joan of Arc overcame by the Blood of the Lamb are the word of her testimony, the symbolic meaning of the Blood Moon, and did not shrink back through it cost her life.

Let us pray that we, like Joan of Arc, will seek God’s word for this 2014-15 Blood Moon Tetrad and be as faithful to follow it as was Joan of Arc.

Amen

Blood Moons During the Church Age

The Bible states that “The Heavens declare the Glory of God” (Ps 19:1), and we are told that there will be signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars of Christ’s Second Coming (Lk 21:25).

Signs in the Sun and Moon include eclipses of the Sun, when the Sun turns black, and eclipses of the Moon, when the Moon turns blood red. (Joel 2:31). The darkness of the solar eclipse presents a picture of judgment (Amos 5:18), but the lunar eclipse presents grace and mercy as the Moon, called the “Faithful witness in the sky” (Ps 89:37), and representing the believers, is covered with the Blood of Christ. We are also reminded that the believers overcome Satan by their witness and Christ’s Blood (Rev 12:11). Thus, while the solar eclipse represents judgment, the lunar eclipse or Blood Moon represents not judgment, but God’s grace, mercy, and the power to overcome evil.

Blood Moons have a special interconnection with Jewish lunar calendar because two Jewish Feasts, Passover and Tabernacles, occur when the Moon is full and a lunar eclipse can occur. Some significant events have occurred during a Blood Moon, such as the first Passover during the Exodus in 1446 BC and a Blood Moon during the Spring of 5 BC when the Chinese observed the Star of Bethlehem and our research indicates that Christ was born. However, many authorities attach special significance to groupings of four Blood Moons on sequential Jewish Feast days, known as Tetrads. We agree that the Tetrads are historically significant, and believe that they represent times of extraordinary grace and revival in the Church.

The eight historical Tetrads during the Church Age are outlined as follows:

  1. 1967-68 – Charismatic revival begins, resulting in 600 million Charismatic Christians today
  2. 1949-50– Billy Graham and tent revival movement, with Graham preaching to over 2 billion people  so far.
  3. 1493-94– Columbus begins evangelization of New World, with over 800 million Christians in the Americas today.
  4. 1428-29 Joan of Arc’s visions lead to separation of France from England, allowing England to participate in Protestant Reformation and world wide evangelization.
  5. 860-61 – St. Cyril begins missionary career which leads to Christianization of Bulgaria and Russia.
  6. 842-43 – Charlemagne’s heirs split Germany from France, with Germany turning evangelistic efforts eastward and leading to conversion of Poles, Bohemians, Hungarians, and Eastern Germans.
  7. 795-96– Charlemagne’s conquests and the scholar Acuin’s evangelistic efforts lead to conversion of Moravia, Slavs, Danes, and ultimately many Vikings.
  8. 162-63– First Charismatic renewal in Church restores prophecy and holiness to many Churches in Roman Empire, strengthening the Church to grow under persecution.

We have now entered the ninth Blood Moon Tetrad, in 2014-15. The spiritual turning points in the previous Tetrads were often seemingly small events with full manifestation occurring much later. Nevertheless, we have seen such historic events as the Pope’s unity outreach (See our Blog of 3/5/14 “Pope’s Unity Message Goes Viral”), and we have great expectations that a revival based on Christ’s unity prayer will be launched.

We urge our prayer partners to join Jesus in his prayer for unity so that the world will believe our message (See John 7:23). Let us find our Brothers in other Christian Churches and pray together for the Unity Revival to come.

Revival is coming. Don’t miss it!

Blood Moon Rising

The Blood Moon, or Lunar Eclipse, which will happen on the night of April 14-15 is drawing much attention after Pastor John Hagee’s book Four Blood Moons showcased Lunar Eclipses as a sign of Christ’s Return in the Sun, Moon, and Stars.

During a Lunar Eclipse the Moon turns red as the sunlight is reflected through the Earth’s atmosphere. It is as if the Moon, called the “Faithful Witness in the Sky” (Ps 89:37) and representing the believers, was covered in the Blood of Christ. We are also reminded that we overcome Satan by our witness and the Blood of the Lamb (Rev 12:11). (See Today’s Blog of our Sister organization, the Star Bible Society, “The Overcomers Moon”).  Thus, the Lunar Eclipse is  not a sign of Judgment but is instead a picture of God’s grace and mercy extended to believers.

To illustrate this grace aspect, there are two outstanding Lunar Eclipses which we can point to in Biblical times. The first occurred on the night of the First Passover in Egypt in 1446 BC, when the Blood covering kept out the Angel of Death. The second occurred on Passover night of 5 BC, when the Star of Bethlehem appeared and our research indicates that Christ was born. These Blood Moons happened as God was pouring out His grace and mercy on His people.

In the modern era, Pastor John Hagee’s book “Four Blood Moons” has identified groupings of Four Blood Moons on Jewish Feast days of Passover and Tabernacles in 1493-94, 1949-50, and 1967-68. History tells us that the Evangelization of the New World began when Christopher Columbus set sail back to the Americas during a Blood Moon on the Feast of Tabernacles in 1493. It was during a Blood Moon on the Feast of Tabernacles in 1949 that Billy Graham became a household name, launching a revival in conjunction with the healing revival of those years. The Blood Moon year 1967 saw the start of the great Charismatic Revival, which has produced 600 million believers, and also the beginning of the Messianic Jewish movement which many believe is preparing the way for Christ’s Return.

Looking forward to the Blood Moons of 2014-15, we can join Pastor Hagee in his expectation that God will do something historic. In fact, we have already seen a historic reconciliation event in Pope Francis’s video of blessing sent to his Protestant brothers (See our Blog of 3/5/14 “Pope’s Unity Message Goes Viral”). Since Church unity is cause for the world to believe our message (See John 17:23), we can hope that the Lord will pour out His Spirit in revival during this time.

Some are planning prayer vigils to accompany the Eclipse, which will be visible in the U.S. from 3:00 A.M. to 4:30 (EDT) or 2:00 to 3:30 (CDT).

Pray for revival and get ready for something special to happen.
